Launching of log floater's boat

After many attempts we have finally launched our log floaters' boat! We had planned to launch last year, but we were struck by bad luck. Our first attempt to start the engine led to engine capsizal. An engine from the early fifties is not very easy to find spare parts for. This forced us to put the launching off. Last autumn we finally managed to find a one-cylinder engine with a reversing gear. Unfortunately it was too late in the autumn, so instead we covered the boat for the winter.

This spring we started a reconstruction for the new engine. The aim was to make a trial trip before Midsummer. However, sometimes theory and practice diverge. But now at last, a little later than planned, we have made our maiden voyage.
