Birger Nordins famous sami collection with art, items and books can now be found at the Museum of Forestry.

The collection is owned by Sparbankstiftelsen Norrland. The items are newly arrived and being worked on. A themed exhibition showing silver items is now available at the museum. From spoons, cups and belts to costume details.

2007, The Archaeology Year - Discover the early history of Västerbotten! During 2007 focus will be put on archaeology and prehistory in Västerbotten. This means that several exhibitions and numerous other activities will be offered throughout the county.

New Website

New website with many possibilities. We utilize the latest solutions for publication and news updates. The new website will be developed continuosly during the near future.
During winter/spring the whole portal will be connected to the entire museum's archive of objects containing thousands of items that are currently being photographed and digitalized. With the new website, we have taken a giant leap forward to making maintenance and managing easier.
