Welcome to the Museum of Forestry
Lycksele, which is a pronounced wooded district, is situated in the province of Lapland. Here, as well as in the rest of the inland, there are many people who in one way or another have been or are connected to the forest - through forestry, hunting and the picking of berries.

The Manual Logging Era offers plenty of interesting information. Anything from how the workers transported the wood from the forest - f.e with a horse and sleigh as seen here on the image - to how they were living in the huts.

The Mechanized Logging Era, with its 1500m2, offers many unique and exciting experiences. Here you can test your skills in a forwarder, or why not have a seat in our mini-cinema and watch journal movies about the forest!
